Garda Hotel Forte Charme

This is a review about the booking and particularly the cancellation of this hotel. I have worked for more than a decade in the hospitality industry and my booking (however through booking.com) was not granted a cancellation with refund. Let me explain why I find this not okay…we booked the hotel and it looked amazing and we were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, our 1 year old son got fever through the night as kids frequently get. Having been awake half the night with an unhappy toddler, I requested a refund to my cancellation (waive the fee) in the early morning of my potential arrival. Several hours before the earliest possible check-in in the mid-afternoon. They declined and I had to pay the first night in full, not even got asked for the reason of my cancellation. A full pay of a room that can be resold. No breakfast eaten, no room occupied and fully charged. Not a voucher as an offer for a return. Nothing. In any hotel I worked in, cancellation was free before check-in time or even before 6pm on the day of arrival. Having said that, I cannot recommend this hotel as beautiful as it might be as the baseline service isn’t on par with the industry’s standard. What a shame!!

Breathtaking views , really nice personnel always ready to answer our questions! We enjoyed walking down the hill to Torbole enjoying the views and sunset but there is also a shuttle you can take. We got an upgrade to the sport room too ! Breakfast was delicious, there is loads of fresh fruit precut for you and coffee Automat even with decaffeinated beans! Don’t miss out taking a swim in the pool or the jacuzzi ! Wish we could stay longer !
